At Easter 2013 the late diagnosis of a ruptured oesophagus led to severe sepsis, three weeks in an induced coma and three months in hospital. My recovery was slow and difficult. Furthermore, the effects of sepsis and the drugs used to maintian the coma caused PTSD which itself was not diagnosed for over two years.
In 2015 I was able to work for only a few weeks but then started to struggle again. The PTSD returned in 2018. However, I started therapy in mid-2019 and this was successfully completed in November 2020. Lifting the burden of PTSD has freed me to paint again. I couldn’t be more pleased!
